Cuborees are amazing opportunities for Cubs from all over the State to come together and enjoy the fun, excitement and exhilaration of activities, adventure and friendship for 5 days. Cuborees are more than just a weekend camp ... Cuborees are an experience.
Teamed up with Cubs from Gisborne, our Ballan Cubs headed off to Gilwell Park to share Cuboree and have a lot of fun together. After the enjoyment of a pre-Cuboree sleepover, everyone knew each other and were ready to enjoy Cuboree as Unit 126.
In perfect weather conditions for the entire duration of Cuboree our Cubs had an awesome time camping, running, throwing, jumping, climbing, spinning, walking, balancing, crawling through mud and on occasions sleeping. This is their Cuboree ...
Welcome to our campsite. This is our safe haven. A place were during Cuboree we could escape too if we were tired. However, we were too busy to be tired as we were constantly on the move, engaging in activities, having fun and experiencing everything Cuboree had to offer. We enjoyed our campsite, ate lots of yummy food, played games, relived stories of the day and recharged our batteries ready to discover the next day.
Cherry lane is a place we enjoyed going when we had down time. There were lots of little activities at Cherry Lane and we enjoyed the opportunity to simply move around the activities and engage, support or simply watch others participate. It was a great place to meet Cubs from all over Victoria to swap badges, talk and find out all about their Cub Units and their Cuboree experience.
Our Safari Adventure was great fun where we enjoyed the opportunity to simply walk around Healesville Sanctuary, witness all the amazing animals, enjoy some animal keeper talks and displays and have fun with Cubs from other Units along the way.
Even Wombat came out to say Hello.
At Outback Adventure we were ready for anything. We had been preparing for this and it didn't matter what Cuboree threw at us we were prepared to engage and respond with full participation. Colour ... mud ... water ... we didn't care, we were ready to dive in and have a go. And that's exactly what we did as we enjoyed going down the water slide, covering ourselves in colour and swimming in the mud.
IT WAS AWESOME .... and we LOVED IT!!!
During the evening there was plenty of things to do. While we mainly stayed in camp and played cards, games or simply reflected on our adventures of the day we also enjoyed an evening at Gunyah were we got to discover more activities. Our base was the Hoop Tropp Base and we had a lot of fun with Huka Hoops, playing a range of different activities with them. The one that created the greates amount of fun and laughter was when we tried to spin the hoops around our waists ... it was very entertaining.
We also enjoyed the Jungle Adventure activities where we got to test our skills through a heap of different teamwork and fun activities. As a team we used our bodies to make or Unit number, we had fun walking as we were tied up together through the Jungle, we solved puzzled and we even got to fire catapults across the Jungle.
This was one of our favourite adventures throughout the entire Cuboree.
Through the Theatre Adventure we dance, laughed and put on a comedy show as we successfully made Akela laugh.
Then it was on to the Vertical Adventure where we enjoyed the opportunity to slide, climb and stack. The giant slide was great fun and we all enjoyed the view from the top before flying down the slide as quickly as we could. Then we collected as many milk crates as we could find before harnessing up and climbing high into the sky by building a tower with the milk crates as we climbed. It was awesome fun. Then finally we got to test our skills on the variety rocklclimbing walls where we could boulder, climb, chimney or summit ... it didn't matter what we did, it was fun.
I don't think that is quite right, but it does look fun.
Our Campfire Adventure was huge with hundreds of Cubs gathering together from all over the place to simply enjoy an evening of fun, laughter, signing and relaxing. It was amazing to see how many Cubs were all together in the one place ... and they were just from our Sub-Camp ... that wasn't all the Cubs from the entire Cuboree!!!!
Neon Adventure was fantastic fun and a really enjoyable challenge. We got lost in the maze many times as we attempted to guide our blind-folded friends through the incredible maze. We blasted water rockets into the sky where Mud Crab attempted to catch them. Some of our rockets were on target ... but most of them were too powerful, too long and too quick for Mud Crab to even see them. Then we got to test our skills on the targets as we had a go at archery with all of us proving that we were pretty good at archery. It was great fun, and we were pretty good at hitting the targets.
But what we enjoyed most about our Neon Adventure was watching Mud Crab demonstrate his dancing skills ....
Scout & Beyond was an experience where we were Scouts and got to enjoy and engage in a variety of different activities that we got could when we were Scouts ... best of all they activities were run by Scouts. A lot of the activities related to testing and fine tuning our Bushcraft Skills, but we didn't care, we simply had fun racing the billy carts, climbing the tower bridge, building a shelter and crawling under the cargo net.
We even got to test out our skills by throwing axes at a target. While it was a challenge and we really had to focus on what we were doing ... it was awesome fun, and we all hit the target.
HELLO KOALA!!!
Finally our Cuboree experience came to an end ... but not before one last opportunity to PARTY. Our Dance Party on the last night bought all the Cubs together and it was fantastic fun as we all got to dance, laugh, play and simply be together. it was great fun and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a blast and an awesome way to finish our Cuboree experience.
