Riding the entire Great Victorian Rail Trail is an impressive challenge, starting in sub-zero temperatures makes the challenge a little more interesting. But that didn't deter our bike riding Scouts. Waking up on a frosty Mansfield morning they were keen to get going and tackle the Rail Trail. Under crystal clear blue skies the Scouts enjoyed riding along the trail, enjoying the views, discovering a variety of artwork and looking out for Scar Trees.
It was an awesome experience and one all the Scouts enjoyed. With the plan to go to Alexandra and ride the full Rail Trail, doubts crept in at the end of the first day. However, at the junction the decision was to go and while the extra distance extended comfort zones it was an enjoyable experience for all. Then came the highlight of the ride ... the Cheviot Tunnel, a 201m long tunnel where the Scouts enjoyed climbing, riding, exploring and discovering. it was great fun.
After 160km of riding the Scouts finally arrived in Tallarook completing an enjoyable Adventurous Journey & the Rail Trail.
